KLAS: More than half of Cerner clients dissatisfied with implementation, IT advisory services

Healthcare organizations using Cerner's EHR and revenue cycle software are turning to other consulting firms for implementation and advisory services, according to a recent KLAS report.

For its Consulting for Cerner Software 2019 report, KLAS compiled feedback from small, midsize and large healthcare organizations about their satisfaction with Cerner's consulting services. While the participating organizations almost all consider the EHR vendor for in-house services, many are beginning to seek third-party vendors for implementation and IT advisory services.

When asked about the quality of Cerner's staff and consultants for implementation and IT advisory services, participants reported the following:

· Very satisfied: 25 percent.
· Satisfied: 19 percent.
· Dissatisfied: 19 percent.
· Very dissatisfied: 39 percent.

In comparison, participating organizations said the following regarding satisfaction of quality of staff and consultants from third-party firms:

· Very satisfied: 45 percent.
· Satisfied: 43 percent.
· Dissatisfied: 5 percent.
· Very dissatisfied: 13 percent.
