Indiana hospital to transition to Cerner EHR: 3 notes

Logansport (Ind.) Memorial Hospital will implement a Cerner Millennium EHR, Pharos Tribune reports.

Three notes:

1. The hospital's new EHR will integrate all patients' health information on a single Cerner platform.

"Having all of a patient's information on one record, rather than working from multiple systems, will be hugely beneficial for our physicians and staff as we continue to improve the health of people across the region and make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve," LMH CEO Perry Gay told Pharos Tribune.

2. The Cerner Millennium EHR stores patients' clinical and financial data. The hospital will also add Cerner's revenue cycle software, which uses clinical and financial data to support the patient billing process.

3. LMH patients will also have access to Cerner's patient portal, which individuals can use to message their physicians, access their health data, schedule appointments and view financial balances.
