DrChrono launches Apple leasing bundle to get advanced tech in physicians hands at low cost

Julie Spitzer -

EHR vendor DrChrono will offer Apple leasing bundle plans for physicians and other medical professionals as a low-cost effort to combine their EHR with modern Apple hardware.

Many practices are using outdated hardware and legacy software poorly designed for modern physicians and their updated workflows.

DrChrono's Apple hardware leasing bundle plans will help put the latest Apple hardware — such as the iPad Pro, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Apple TV, iPhone or Apple Watch — in these practices so providers can easily afford updated technology via a monthly payment.

DrChrono — which built an EHR on the iPad — offers three leasing packages: the small practice bundle, large practice bundle and custom practice bundle. The small and large practice bundle plans include Macbook Pro's, iPad Pro's, Apple TV and an Airport Extreme, while the custom packages allow practices to develop personalized bundles that meet their unique hardware needs.

"Physicians should have the best tools at hand. Clipboards, paper, [computer-on-wheels], DVDs and fax machines are not efficient; physicians only have so much time in a day and shouldn't have to deal with antiquated tools that slow them down," Daniel Kivatinos, COO and cofounder of DrChrono, said in a press release. "Everything should be at the fingertips of a doctor when they need it digitally. DrChrono is on a mission to create the very best doctor-patient experience possible; this means bringing not only the best EHR to a physician, but also the very best hardware."
