Cerner names physician 'all-stars' from MedStar Health, Dignity Health, more

Cerner recognized five providers as "physician all-stars" at its Cerner Physician Community meeting Oct. 7-8, an event within the EHR vendor's annual Cerner Health Conference.

The Cerner Health Conference — which takes place Oct. 7-11 in Kansas City, Mo. — will host nearly 14,000 healthcare industry leaders, practitioners and Cerner associates from across the globe to network and discuss best practices for health IT.

To kick off the Cerner Health Conference, the company presented five providers with its Physician All-Star award, which recognizes physicians for "outstanding work" using health IT to drive positive outcomes in their organizations.

Here are this year's awardees:

  • Joel McAlduff, MD, chief medical information officer of MedStar Health (Columbia, Md.)
  • Marcus Scarbrough, MD, CMO of Lawrence (Kan.) Memorial Hospital
  • Emily Webber, MD, chief medical information officer of Riley Children's Health and associate chief medical information officer for Indiana University Health (Indianapolis)
  • David Camitta, MD, director of health informatics at Dignity Health (San Francisco)
  • William Feaster, MD, chief medical information officer at Children's Hospital of Orange County (Orange, Calif.)
