Allscripts posts 31% increase in bookings for Q2: 4 things to know

Allscripts reported bookings of $276 million in the second quarter of 2019, up 31 percent from $211 million during the same period in 2018.

Four things to know about the EHR vendor's financial performance for the second quarter of 2019:

1. Allscripts posted $444.5 million in total revenue for the quarter, a 0.7 percent increase from $441.4 million in the second quarter of 2018.

2. The EHR vendor reported a net loss of $150 million in the second quarter of 2019 compared to a net income of $65 million during the same period in 2018.

3. Allscripts expects its full year 2019 bookings to be between $1.05 billion and $1.1 billion, up from its prior projection of $900 million and $1 billion.

4. The company also recorded a $145 million charge in the second quarter of 2019 related to the Department of Justice's investigations of Allscripts subsidiary Practice Fusion.
