Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health is partnering with Mednition, a healthcare artificial intelligence company, to deploy a machine learning tool to guide nurses, improve retention and enhance patient care.

Three details:

  1. The cloud-based tool is embedded in EHRs to ease triage processes, according to an Oct. 12 news release. The tool reads EHRs to communicate in real-time triage recommendations. The tool analyzes patient data with a dataset of more than 60 billion data points.

  2. Chip Dickinson, digital innovation executive for Adventist Health, said the tool has helped improve patient care, nurse and provider communications, patient documentation and staff retention.

  3. Adventist Health deployed the tool in 16 of its 20 hospitals. The tool will be used by more than 1,600 emergency room nurses, providers and hospital leaders each year. The tool will be deployed in the remaining four hospitals by the end of 2021.
