101 EHR contracts, go-lives in 2019

One hundred and one hospitals and health systems took steps to implement a new EHR or fully deployed a new system in 2019.

Here are 46 healthcare organizations that have undergone new EHR developments since July. To view the 55 hospitals and health systems that were involved with EHR activity in the first half of 2019, click here.

1. Piedmont Columbus (Ga.) Regional launched an Epic EHR at several of its campuses in July as part of Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare's $30M project to implement a single records system.

2. Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health announced plans in July to roll out a Cerner EHR at four more of its hospitals this year.

3. St. Luke's Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines, implemented Allscripts' Sunrise Acute Care EHR system to move its patient records for surgical, radiology, laboratory and ambulatory services onto a single system.

4. Tower Health deployed its Epic EHR system Aug. 3 at five more of its hospitals as well as 25 additional Tower Health Medical Group physician practices.

5. Advocare, a Marlton, N.J-based physician-owned medical group, implemented an eClinicalWorks cloud-based EHR system across its almost 200 practice locations.

6. Quincy, Calif.-based Plumas District Hospital installed a Cerner-based EHR system.

7. Sidney (Neb.) Regional Medical Center in August selected Epic for its new EHR system.

8. Hyannis, Mass.-based Cape Cod Healthcare announced in August its plans to break ground on a $180 million, six-story patient care tower and implement an Epic EHR systemwide. 

9. Marysville, Calif.-based Adventist Health + Rideout deployed a Cerner EHR system Aug. 18.

10. Laramie, Wyo.-based Ivinson Memorial Health launched an Epic EHR system Aug. 24.

11. Augusta-based MaineGeneral Health expanded its contract with EHR vendor Allscripts through 2027.

12. Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic and Oxford University Clinic enlisted Cerner to develop an EHR system for the healthcare organizations' new joint medical facility in London.

13. Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, N.Y., deployed a Cerner Millennium EHR in September.

14. The Department of Defense went live Sept. 7 on its new Cerner EHR at four sites in California and Idaho.

15. Eastland (Texas) Memorial Hospital, Pawhuska (Okla.) Hospital and Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in Manistique, Mich., each partnered with Cerner to implement the vendor's EHR cloud-based platform.

16. Christie Clinic in Champaign, Ill., moved its patients' medical records Oct. 1 to Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Clinic's Epic EHR system.

17. Rolla, Mo.-based Phelps Health announced plans to deploy an Epic EHR system by late 2020.

18. Grinnell (Iowa) Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of West Des Moines, Iowa-based UnityPoint Health, deployed an Epic EHR system Sept. 29.

19. Meridian, Miss.-based Rush Health Systems signed a 10-year partnership with New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System to install an Epic EHR.

20. Lakeview, Ore.-based Lake Health District hospital announced plans to implement a Cerner EHR system by 2020.

21. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn., transitioned to an Epic EHR system Oct. 1.

22. Las Vegas-based ER at Blue Diamond, an extension of Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, deployed a Cerner EHR.

23. Northwell Health and Allscripts teamed up to develop and deploy a cloud-based, voice-enabled EHR across the New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based health system.

24. Boulder (Colo.) Community Health deployed an Epic EHR across its network Oct. 1.

25. Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System announced in October it will deploy Cerner's EHR-agnostic population health management platform HealtheIntent across its clinical network.

26. Milford, Conn.-based Bridgeport Hospital, a Yale New Haven Health hospital, went live on an Epic EHR.

27. Alameda Health System in Oakland, Calif., deployed an Epic EHR at the beginning of October.

28. OCHIN, a national nonprofit health IT organization that provides technology for community health centers, announced in October plans to extend access to its Epic EHR to North County Health Services in San Marcos, Calif.

29. Arrowhead Regional Medical Center announced plans to transition to an Epic EHR, unifying patient records on a single platform across the Colton, Calif.-based health system.

30. Mid-Valley Hospital in Omak, Wash., deployed a Cerner EHR to move its hospital and clinic onto the same digital records platform.

31. Redlands, Calif.-based Beaver Medical Group implemented an Epic EHR across its network.

32. The U.S. Coast Guard in October announced it will begin to deploy its new Cerner EHR system during the fourth quarter of 2019.

33. Vively Health, a home-based primary care provider for patients with multiple chronic conditions, selected a Cerner EHR and population health management platform.

34. Bakersfield, Calif.-based Kern Medical went live on a $30 million Cerner EHR on Nov. 1.

35. Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network launched the first phase of its $151.6 million Epic EHR implementation on Nov. 9.

36. Carrollton, Ga.-based Tanner Health System deployed an Epic EHR system on Nov. 3.

37. CHI Memorial Hospital implemented an Epic EHR system to streamline clinical applications, billing and population health services across the Chattanooga, Tenn.-based health system.

38. Banning, Calif.-based San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital announced on Nov. 14 that it will implement an Allscripts Sunrise EHR system.

39. Willis-Knighton Health System in Shreveport, La., announced on Nov. 14 that it will renew its partnership with Meditech and transition to its mobile, web-based EHR system.

40. As part of its partnership with Mary Free Bed hospital, Saginaw, Mich.-based Covenant HealthCare on Nov. 4 signed a 10-year agreement to extend access to its Epic EHR system to the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based hospital.

41. Pipeline Health, a Los Angeles-based private hospital ownership and management company, announced on Nov. 18 that it will implement a Cerner EHR at its facilities across the U.S.

42. Pittsfield, Mass.-based Berkshire Health Systems will invest $35 million over the next three years to transition to a Meditech EHR system.

43. Eldorado, Ill.-based Ferrell Hospital and Princeton, Ind.-based Gibson General Hospital, both affiliates of Deaconess Health System, went live on Epic. 

44. San Antonio-based University Health System will allocate $170 million of its fiscal year 2020 budget to transition to an Epic EHR system.

45. New York City-based Wyckoff Heights Medical Center announced on Dec. 10 that it is now live on Allscripts' Sunrise EHR.

46. Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Neb., deployed an Epic EHR system.
