Through the SIREN network, the three institutions will have access to expanded patient populations, including minority and underserved patients typically left out of clinical trials, according to the report.

The National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Defense and the NIH's National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences will fund the SIREN clinical trials.
