CVS has poached former Fitbit and Walgreens executive Adam Pellegrini to lead its consumer health initiatives, according to an internal memo obtained by CNBC.
Mr. Pellegrini will "lead the ideation and incubation of consumer-focused health products and services that drive enterprise value and growth," a memo from CVS Chief Transformation Officer Alan Lotvin said.
A spokesperson for CVS declined to comment on specific efforts Mr. Pellegrini will be spearheading, CBNC reports.
Most recently Mr. Pellegrini served as the vice president of digital health at Fitbit. Fitbit confirmed Mr. Pellegrini's departure in a Sept. 6 blog post.
Mr. Pellegrini also spent time at Walgreens Boots Alliance where he assisted in integrating data from wearables to a rewards program and introduced telemedicine, CNBC reports.
