- Fifth Third Bank is acquiring healthcare payments and remittance provider Big Data Healthcare.
- Best Buy’s Geek Squad said it will be in charge of setting up remote patient monitoring technology in patients’ homes for Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium’s hospital-at-home program.
- VillageMD, which is majority owned by Walgreens, acquired a 30-location medical group in Connecticut as it continues its rapid expansion around the country.
- Apple filed a patent for a “Body ID” composition scan that could be used for health evaluations.
- Best Buy is partnering with Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger, New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System and New York City-based NYU Langone Health on remote patient monitoring.
- Walmart Health said it will open 28 new Walmart Health centers by the first quarter of 2024.
