U of Arizona unveils medical simulation center

University of Arizona in Tucson provided guided tours of its new Health Sciences Innovation Building Nov. 4-5, Arizona Daily Star reports.

The 35,000-square-foot Simulation Technology and Education Center will be available for University of Arizona medicine, nursing, public health and pharmacy students. The center comprises six live simulation rooms that are equipped to support various types of cases and medical training, such as intensive care unit and labor and delivery.  

The center also features a virtual reality room, where students can virtually view every layer of the human body, including bones, nerves, muscle tissue and skin. Teaching staff also have access to a 3D printing lab, where they can create custom models for students to practice on such as the heart and trachea.
