NYU Langone opens biotech incubator with 22 industry members

Andrea Park -

New York City-based NYU Langone Health celebrated on Dec. 10 the grand opening of its incubator for early-stage biotechnology and life sciences companies, with nearly two dozen startups already residing in the space.

The 50,000-square-foot BioLabs@NYULangone will ultimately house more than 35 companies, along with 160 scientists and business and support staff. Biotech and life sciences startups are chosen to use the incubator's laboratory and office space, education programming and operational support to develop their research discoveries into commercializable treatments to improve global health and well-being.

"We're proud to be at the forefront of this expansion, building on the success of our health system in translating research discoveries into new drugs, devices and technologies to improve the lives of patients and their families," said Robert Grossman, MD, dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine and CEO of NYU Langone Health.

BioLabs@NYULangone is funded by NYU Langone Health, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Empire State Development and several other innovation-minded corporations.
