NewYork-Presbyterian launched the NewYork-Presbyterian IT-Innovation center in 2015 to centralize the health system's telehealth efforts.
Today, NYP has more than 50 telehealth programs and provides virtual services in outpatient, inpatient and post-discharge settings across its 10 hospitals and three physician organizations. It has conducted more than 400,000 virtual visits with a 95 percent patient satisfaction rate. NYP's telehealth services include a vast range, from direct-to-consumer platforms, virtual support and specialty services, remote patient monitoring and specialty pharmacy consult services.
In 2019, NYP began expanding its tele-lactation program, which connects new mothers with a lactation specialist to enhance breast feeding support. Additionally, the health system launched school-based behavioral health and behavioral health medication management programs for its ambulatory care network patients.
This year, NYP was recognized as a finalist for the Heritage Healthcare Innovation Awards for Innovation in Healthcare Delivery. The health system won the 2018 Intelligent Health Association Improving Patient Safety and Healthcare Delivery Award.
