Molina Healthcare of Washington distributes $1M in innovation funding

Bothell-based Molina Healthcare of Washington announced Nov. 26 the inaugural recipients of grant funding from its new Molina Community Innovation Fund.

From a pool of 152 applicants, Molina selected 16 Washington-based nonprofit organizations focused on addressing social determinants of health and reducing barriers to healthcare access for Medicaid beneficiaries in regions of the state that have implemented Washington's Integrated Managed Care program to ease payment and delivery of health and crisis services. Collectively, the organizations will receive nearly $1 million in grants.

The selected organizations span three core areas: community and clinical linkages and social determinants of health; population health; and expanding access to and reducing disparities in access to care.

Molina Healthcare of Washington announced the launch of the Molina Fund in September. The three-year, $3 million initiative will offer Catalyst Investments of $50,000 to $100,000 for the development and implementation of programs with measurable outcomes, and Accelerator Investments of $10,000 grants to support capacity building on a local level.
