Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger's Steele Institute for Healthcare Innovation program has spurred a variety of projects, including the MyCode Community Health Initiative, Fresh Food Farmacy and Springboard Healthy Scranton.
The institute focuses on improving patient experience, quality, efficiency and outcomes. The center selected an artificial intelligence partner in Jvion to attempt to solve some of its biggest challenges in July 2018.
Innovation is also an important part of value creation across the Geisinger system. Steele Institute works with Geisinger Jersey Shore Hospital to implement the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation's Pennsylvania Rural Health Model, with a plan that would provide telemedicine, health coaches, care managers and dietitians to underserved populations.
