Bayer offers grant funding, mentorship to 11 new digital health startup partners

Bayer added 11 digital health startups to its G4A Digital Health Partnerships program, which provides funding and commercial guidance to early-stage companies developing digital healthcare solutions.

The companies were chosen from more than 750 applicants spanning 65 countries. Their solutions aim to improve care quality and delivery in the fields of cardiovascular disease, oncology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, radiology and digital therapeutics.

Six of the startups will join the G4A "Growth Track," in which they will receive more than $82,000 in funding, mentoring and coaching from Bayer executives and access to coworking space at the Berlin headquarters of Bayer's pharmaceutical division. The other five companies will join the "Advance Track," through which Bayer will co-create and execute commercial deals, providing both initial funding and additional milestone-based payments.

The G4A program, formerly known as Grants4Apps, has offered support to more than 150 digital health companies since its 2013 launch, resulting in more than 30 direct collaborations with digital health startups. Beyond partnering with startups, the program also identifies new technologies, business models and market trends in digital healthcare.
