People can book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at Walgreens and schedule a ride to it all within Uber's app, thanks to a new feature in the app, the companies announced April 28.
Uber integrated a "Vaccine" option in its app, which allows users to search their ZIP code and schedule a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at a Walgreens location. Users can then schedule a pickup time and location for their ride to the appointment. Before their appointment, users receive a push notification reminding them of their upcoming ride.
"We're committed to helping ensure that transportation is not a barrier to getting vaccinated. We know that by making it easier to get to an appointment, more people will get vaccinated," Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a news release. "By partnering with Walgreens, our goal is to make getting that shot as easy as booking a ride with Uber."
