Henry Ford teams up with consumer care platform on urgent care expansion

Jackie Drees -

Henry Ford Health System is partnering with consumer-care company GoHealth Urgent Care to operate urgent care centers and virtual care offerings across Michigan, the Detroit-based health system said Oct. 26.

Three existing Henry Ford Macomb Urgent Care centers in Fraser, Chesterfield and Bruce Township, Mich., will transition to the new joint venture in late 2021, with multiple new sites expected to open in 2022.

Henry Ford-GoHealth Urgent Care will provide patients access to urgent care services, along with the option to check wait times online, save a spot online and see their clinician virtually or in person. The urgent care centers will provide care for illnesses or injuries that are not life threatening, led by Henry Ford providers.

GoHealth's consumer care platform offers virtual and in-person services to patients, operating more than 165 on-demand care centers across the U.S.
