Evidation rolls out digital flu monitoring program

Digital health company Evidation has launched FluSmart, a digital program for individuals to monitor their flu symptoms and connect them with flu resources.

Users self-report data and can connect wearables to the program, and Evidation provides a flu symptom survey when a change in their health is detected. The program can then direct patients to clinical studies and flu care in their areas, according to an Oct. 26 Evidation news release.

The program has enrolled 90,000 users so far.

"FluSmart helps individuals learn about meaningful changes in their activity data and get insights using Evidation's battle-tested algorithms and information they share with us," Evidation co-founder and co-CEO Christine Lemke said. "We have been studying and characterizing influenza-like illness using wearables since 2017, and FluSmart makes this expertise actionable for individuals. In addition to helping identify potentially symptomatic individuals, Evidation's predictive models have proved effective for engaging diverse and historically underrepresented populations."
