Sema4, a genomic testing startup, named Jamie Coffin, PhD, its president and COO earlier this month.
New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System recently spun out its Genetic Testing Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai into a for-profit company, called Sema4. The startup now offers genomic testing and big data analysis to improve clinical diagnostics.
"We have a remarkable opportunity to improve consumers' lives by delivering more useful, predictive and reliable information to guide healthcare than has ever been possible before," Dr. Coffin said.
Dr. Coffin most recently served as the CEO of Source Medical Solutions, a practice management and EMR solutions provider focused on the ambulatory surgical space. He has also held leadership roles with healthcare and life sciences divisions at Dell and IBM.
Dr. Coffin earned his PhD in computational chemistry from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
