Intermountain soliciting genomics research proposals: 4 things to know

Jessica Kim Cohen -

St. George, Utah-based Intermountain Precision Genomics, the precision medicine arm of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare, is accepting submissions for collaborative research projects.

Here are four things to know about the genomics research opportunity:

1. Intermountain Precision Genomics is seeking research proposals that build on the organization's access to samples from its biorepository and high-throughput next-generation sequencing capabilities.

2. Intermountain Precision Genomics will match up $100,000 for collaborative proposals that are "innovative, creative and advance our mission of helping people live the healthiest lives possible."

3. Interested research groups must submit proposals by Aug. 1, and include information such as principal investigator, study hypothesis and research design, among other criteria.

4. Intermountain Precision Genomics will announce the selected research projects in September.
