78% of physician leaders cite 'incomplete data' as a top threat to patient safety, survey finds

The majority of physician leaders — 73 percent — agree issues related to patient safety keep them up at night, according to a Royal Philips survey.

For the survey, Philips tapped Regina Corso Consulting to investigate what physician leaders view as the top threats to patient safety. The survey comprises input from 125 physician leaders, such as chief medical officers and medical directors.

Here are the top three responses physician leaders cited as posing significant threats to patient safety.

1. Having incomplete data: 78 percent

1. Inconsistent care delivery: 78 percent

3. Alarm fatigue: 74 percent
