2bPrecise, The Innovation Institute partner to deliver pharmacogenomics insights

2bPrecise and The Innovation Institute entered into an agreement wherein 2bPrecise will deliver pharmacogenomics data to The Innovation Institute's network of member providers.

The Innovation Institute, for-profit company comprised of six owner health systems:

• Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health
• Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours Health System
• Orange, Calif.-based CHOC Children's
• Baton Rouge, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System
• Cincinnati-based Mercy Health
• Renton, Wash.-based Providence St. Joseph Health

Per the agreement, all the health systems will have access to Avera Health's GeneFolio, a gene test that uses a saliva or blood sample. The systems will then be able to use 2bPrecise's precision medicine platform to harmonize the results achieved by GeneFolio and convert it into an actionable format for clinicians.

Avera Health launched GeneFolio in 2017. It tests multiple genes that impact medications in the following areas: pain, depression and other psychiatric disorders as well as statins for cholesterol and certain types of blood thinners.

The 2bPrecise platform is cloud-based, scalable and EHR-agnostic allowing clinicians to access genomic insights provided by GeneFolio within the existing workflows.
