In the ever-volatile world of cryptocurrencies, digital coins like bitcoin or ether gain and lose value in the blink of an eye.

In the past  week, bitcoin hit a low of $8,628 Feb. 13 and steadily rose to $11,594 Feb. 20. The total cryptocurrency market value is currently $507.9 billion.

Here is how five cryptocurrencies stack up as of Feb. 20, presented in order of market capitalization. Data was gathered from CoinMarketCap.

1. Bitcoin

  • Market capitalization of $195.7 billion
  • Value on Feb. 20: $11,594
  • Change in 24 hours: up 4.4 percent

2. Ethereum

  • Market capitalization of $92.4 billion
  • Value on Feb. 20: $945.99
  • Change in 24 hours: down 0.61 percent

3. Ripple

  • Market capitalization of $44.3 billion
  • Value on Feb. 20: $1.14
  • Change in 24 hours: down 1.39 percent

4. Bitcoin Cash

  • Market capitalization of $25.7 billion
  • Value on Feb. 20: $1,515.71
  • Change in 24 hours: down 1.59 percent

5. Litecoin

  • Market capitalization of $13 billion
  • Value on Feb. 20: $241.14
  • Change in 24 hours: up 6.94 percent
