University of Alaska target in data breach

Anchorage-based University of Alaska is alerting individuals about a computer data breach that may have affected email accounts, according to the Daily News-Miner.

Hackers compromised university email accounts between January and February 2018. The university is recommending those affected change their account passwords and monitor their emails. It is unclear how many email accounts were affected in the breach.

Information that may have been affected includes names, dates of birth, passport and government-issued identification numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account and student identification numbers, and health and health insurance information.
