South Carolina hospital computer system goes down

Mackenzie Garrity -

Staff at Roper St. Francis Hospital were unable to access computer systems most of day July 25, according to local ABC affiliate WCIV.

The Charleston, S.C.-based hospital was locked out of email and access to some patient records because of the outage. Roper St. Francis Hospital did have to delay some medical procedures; however, the outage did not have a significant impact on operations, WCIV reports.

It is unclear what caused the outage. Roper St. Francis Hospital was able to get the computer systems back online later that evening.
