Report: 94% of IT pros concerned about moving to the cloud — 4 survey insights

IT decision makers aren't all that confident about moving to the cloud, according to a recent survey commissioned by iboss, a cloud-based web security solution provider.

For the report, iboss polled 200 IT decision makers at U.S.-based organizations focused on private healthcare, financial services, retail, and manufacturing and production. .

Here are four survey insights.

1. While data privacy (62 percent) is the top concern regarding cloud storage, maintenance cost (41 percent), migration cost (35 percent) and legacy IT integration (34 percent) were also cited.

2. As more employees transition to working remotely, 92 percent of respondents said their organization has an IT policy for remote work, but 48 percent of office workers said they've broken that policy.  

3. Sixty-four percent of IT pros agree the adoption of software as a service is advancing faster than they can secure it.

4. Respondents agreed that SaaS applications offer benefits including, it is faster to use (71 percent), more user-friendly (58 percent) and stores more data (49 percent).
