California medical center remains in downtime procedures following Jan. 2 ransomware attack

Mackenzie Garrity -

Chico, Calif.-based Enloe Medical Center continues to treat patients using back-up, offline protocols after suffering from a ransomware attack Jan. 2, according to the Chicoer.

There is no evidence that any patient information has been accessed or compromised. Enloe Medical Center's IT department is working with local law enforcement and the FBI.

As a result of the ransomware attack, Enloe Medical Center staff have not been able to use its phone system or private network. Despite the ransomware attack, there have been no delays in patient care. It is unclear when the hospital will be fully operational.

"A big misconception is when something happens like this, it's not something we can give an update on daily," said Enloe Medical Center's Marketing and Communications Manager Joe Page to the Chicoer
