In an effort to reduce operating costs, all supervisory positions at Aberdeen, Wash.-based Grays Harbor Community Hospital will see a 10 percent pay cut beginning Jan.1, according to KXRO Morning News.
Only employees in salaried supervisor roles and administrative positions — including CEO Tom Jenson and COO Larry Kahl — will see a pay reduction. It will not affect Harbor Medical Group staff or members of UFCW 21, the labor union representing workers at Grays Harbor.
Hospital officials did not disclose the amount the salary reductions would save the organization. However, they said the salary reductions will be reevaluated in April to determine if further cost-saving measures are needed.
In addition to the salary reductions, the hospital is seeking to reduce staff by 20 full-time employees. These changes will come through reducing some staff hours, not filling vacant positions and outsourcing departments.
