Top 5-paying states for nursing assistants

Alaska is the top-paying state for nursing assistants, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data collected in May 2018.

The data includes nursing care attendants, nursing aides and nursing attendants. It excludes home health aides, orderlies, personal care aides and psychiatric aides.

The five states with the highest average annual wage of nursing assistants are:

1. Alaska: $39,830
2. New York: $37,010
3. Hawaii: $35,770
4. California: $35,220
5. Nevada: $35,130
