Hospital CEO Salaries in New York's North Country Vary Widely

New York's North Country, a stretch of six northern counties that covers more than 400,000 people, contains several hospitals, but CEO salary varied widely at those hospitals, according to a Press-Republican report.

The North Country includes five hospitals: Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, Elizabethtown Community Hospital and Moses-Ludington Hospital in Ticonderoga.

Adirondack Medical Center President and CEO Chandler Ralph did not disclose her salary to the Press-Republican because she is paid through a private management company. Here were the compensation data of the other area hospital CEOs, all of which were based on 2010 figures.

•    John Johnson, retired president and CEO of Alice Hyde Medical Center: $339,539
•    Stephens Mundy, president and CEO of CVPH Medical Center: $749,563
•    Rodney Boula, president and CEO of Elizabethtown Community Hospital: $229,902
•    William Holmes, president and CEO of Moses-Ludington Hospital: $210,000
