Caritas Christi's 2010 Form 990 Shows Executive Pay Before For-Profit Conversion

Fiscal year 2010 was the last year Boston-based Caritas Christi filled out its Form 990s as a non-profit organization, and compensation pay has been posted on its top executives from that year, according to Massachusetts state documents (pdf).

Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management purchased Caritas Christi in Nov. 2010, and the health system is now known as Steward Health Care. Here are the following total compensation figures of executives for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2010:

Ralph de la Torre, MD, CEO:  $2,270,076
Robert Guyon, COO:  $942,708
Michael Callum, MD, president of Steward Medical Group:  $813,524
Joseph Maher, general counsel:  $748,605
Mark Rich, executive vice president of corporate strategy and management:  $721,961
Justine Carr, MD, chief medical officer:  $647,655
Mark Girard, MD, president of Steward Health Care Network:  $646,676
Brian Carty, chief marketing officer:  $447,263

Note: Mr. Rich previously was CFO.
