California Hospital Considers $20K Salary Increase for CEO

A committee formed to review the pay of Oceanside, Calif.-based Tri-City Medical Center CEO Larry Anderson has recommended a $20,000 pay increase for the executive and a return to incentive-based bonuses for all hospital executives, according to a North County Times report.

Mr. Anderson's raise would increase the CEO's base pay from $480,000 to $500,000 per year. His total cash compensation was around $625,000 last year with deferred compensation and other taxable benefits, according to the report.

California hospital CEO salaries have come under public scrutiny recently. Michael Covert, CEO of Palomar Pomerado Health in Escondido, Calif., receives more than $1 million in compensation annually.
