22 UPMC Executives, Physicians Earn More Than $1M

Twenty-two executives and physicians at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center made more than $1 million in 2010, and UPMC President and CEO Jeffrey Romoff topped the list with $5.97 million in total compensation, according to a Pittsburgh Business Times report.

In 2010, Mr. Romoff had a base salary of $959,210, roughly $3.7 million in bonuses and incentives and nearly $800,000 in retirement benefits after turning 65, according to the report.

The other 21 UPMC employees who had 2010 compensation packages of $1 million or more include:

•    Ghassan Bejjani, MD, neurosurgeon — $2.86 million
•    Elizabeth Concordia, president of UPMC's hospital and community services division — $2.3 million
•    James Luketich, MD, director of UPMC's Heart, Lung and Esophageal Surgery Institute — $2 million
•    Richard Spiro, MD, director of adult spine services — $1.98 million
•    Mark Rodosky, MD, orthopedic surgeon — $1.88 million
•    Robert Cindrich, JD, senior advisor — $1.69 million
•    Diane Holder, president and CEO of UPMC Health Plan — $1.68 million
•    Adnan Abla, MD, neurosurgeon — $1.5 million
•    Stanley Marks, MD, chief of hematology/oncology — $1.5 million
•    Daniel Drawbaugh, CIO — $1.38 million
•    Gregory Peaslee, chief human resources and administrative services officer — $1.36 million
•    Victor Morell, MD, pediatric cardiovascular surgeon — $1.35 million
•    Robert DeMichiei, CFO — $1.34 million
•    Charles Bogosta, president of international and commercial services division — $1.3 million
•    David Farner, chief of staff — $1.3 million
•    Freddie Fu, MD, chairman of UPMC's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery — $1.2 million
•    Marshall Webster, MD, president of the physician services division — $1.15 million
•    C. Talbot Heppenstall Jr., treasurer — $1.1 million
•    John Innocenti, president of UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Hospital — $1.08 million
•    Sandra Danoff, senior vice president of strategic and business analysis — $1.03 million
•    Scott Lammie, CFO of UPMC Health Plan — $1.02 million
