HHS seeks comment on public health goals

Emily Rappleye -

HHS is soliciting public comment on its "Healthy People 2030" initiative, which aims to develop the next decade of national health and disease prevention objectives.

This project has been ongoing since 1979 and renews every 10 years to update and include new scientific research, data, trends and innovations. "'Healthy People 2030' will reflect assessments of major risks to health and wellness, changing public health priorities, new knowledge in prevention and emerging issues related to our nation's health preparedness," the Federal Register reads.

Comments on the overall mission and goals can be submitted online through Sept. 29 here.
