Omada Health's digital behavioral counseling program will become a reimbursable Medicare benefit under the CDC's Diabetes Prevention Program, the digital therapeutics provider confirmed May 30.

Omada Health says it is the largest in-person or digital provider to achieve full recognition from the DPP, which assesses behavioral and lifestyle programs that tackle prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes. The prevention and management programs that meet DPP criteria are recognized as a covered medical benefit under Medicare.

To achieve recognition under the DPP, the CDC reviewed Omada Health's behavioral counseling curriculum, minimum level of participant engagement and average participant weight loss in accordance with CDC standards, according to Omada Health.
