The American Heart Association unveiled a cloud-based precision medicine data platform focused on cardiovascular diseases.

The American Heart Association Precision Medicine Platform, which was developed with Amazon Web Services, is part of the AHA Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine. Its goal is to streamline data analysis related to treating and preventing cardiovascular diseases like heart failure, stroke, coronary artery disease and atrial fibrillation.

The platform facilitates data sharing from clinical trials, epidemiologic studies, registries and wearable devices. Numerous healthcare organizations have already contributed information to the platform, including AstraZeneca, Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute and Stanford (Calif.) University.
