New York City-based NYU Langone Health has submitted plans to expand coronary care at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn.

The expansion is expected to cost almost $22 million, according to a certificate of need filed May 23 with the New York State Department of Health.

The system is requesting to build out eight permanent coronary care rooms on the hospital’s fourth floor. The hospital currently has approval for seven temporary coronary care beds for cardiac surgery patients. Once the build-out is complete, the seven temporary beds would transition to acute medical and surgical rooms, the certificate said.

Becker’s has reached out to NYU Langone for comment and will update this story if more information becomes available.
