New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health has expanded cardiovascular care at its Northwell Greenwich Village Hospital through the opening of a new cardiac catheterization suite.
The cath lab and a new inpatient unit are set to open in the summer, according to an April 28 news release from the health system.
The expansion is part of a $32 million investment in the facility, which will be the only hospital serving Manhattan’s Lower West Side neighborhood.
“We’re proud to restore essential services to an area that has gone without them for far too long,” Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health, said in the release. “We’re not just filling a gap — we’re enhancing the future of health care in the West Village.”
