Mount Sinai taps director of pulmonary hypertension

New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System named Raymond Benza, MD, director of pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Benza is an expert in cardiovascular medicine and advanced heart failure and transplantation, according to a Dec. 4 health system news release. In this newly created position, he is tasked with advancing and standardizing care for patients with pulmonary hypertension and developing clinical research.

Dr. Benza previously served as director of the division of cardiovascular medicine at Columbus-based Ohio State University. He also served on President Barack Obama's Advisory Committee on Organ Transplantation in the Health Resources and Services Administration for four years, and he was recently inducted into the Association of University of Academic Cardiologists for his research achievements.
