Owensboro (Ky.) Health has partnered with Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington to expand the Owensboro region's access to congenital heart care.
"Cincinatti Children's is committed to expanding services to the communities that request our care," said Bradley Keller, MD, medical director of the hospital's Greater Louisville and Western Kentucky heart practice. "We're excited to bring pediatric and adult congenital heart care to Owensboro and the surrounding communities, in collaboration with Kentucky Children's Hospital and Owensboro Health, so that patients and families can access world-class care closer to home," he said in a Sept. 13 news release.
Three cardiologists are participating in the collaboration, including Bradley Keller, MD, of Cincinatti Children's; Craig Alexander, MD, of Cincinatti Children's; and Shaun Mohan, MD, of Kentucky Children's Hospital Congenital Heart Clinic.
The physicians will see referrals for the diagnosis and treatment of a full range of heart conditions for children, teens and adults born with heart defects at Owensboro Health Pleasant Valley Medical Office on Wednesdays. EKGs, echocardiograms and other in-office testing will also be offered at the site.
The partnership is part of the Joint Heart Program, a collaboration between Cincinatti Children's and Kentucky Children's Hospital that provides heart care at more than 18 locations across Kentucky.
