Cardiothoracic surgeon Stephen Jones, MD, recently joined the system and created the open heart surgical program. Dr. Jones previously served as chief of cardiothoracic surgery at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
Through the program, Valley View’s heart and vascular center now offers coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, thoracic surgery and surgical treatment for atrial fibrillation.
To date, the system has completed 10 open heart surgeries.
