Catholic Health taps new director of cardiovascular imaging

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Catholic Health recently named Omar Khalique, MD, director of the division of cardiovascular imaging for both the health system and St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center in Roslyn, N.Y.

Dr. Khalique was previously with Columbia University Medical Center/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he served as an associate professor of medicine in radiology and as the director of multimodality cardiac imaging at the Structural Heart and Valve Center, according to a Feb. 22 news release from the hospital.

"Catholic Health’s cardiovascular imaging uses the most advanced technology to detect a heart condition early, allowing us to provide an accurate diagnosis and develop the most effective treatment for each patient," Richard Shlofmitz, MD, chief of cardiology for Catholic Health and St. Francis, stated in the news release. "Dr. Khalique’s expertise will allow us to further enhance the services we provide to meet the growing demand from the communities we serve."
