Broward Health raises $9M, some for cardiac care

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health raised $9 million at an annual fundraising event, the majority of which will go to enhancing the system’s cardiovascular service line. 

It is the most money raised in the event’s 12-year history, according to an April 7 news release from the health system.

Of the $9 million, $5.2 million will be used to build a new electrophysiology lab and acquire two Siemens Artis Icono systems for the Broward Health Medical Center. An additional $2 million will be used to purchase cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology equipment, the release said.
