30 cardiologists on the move

Here are 30 cardiologists stepping into new roles:

  1. George Dangas, MD, PhD, professor of medicine (cardiology) and surgery (vascular), at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City was appointed the 46th president of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions.

  2. Midland-based MyMichigan Health welcomed interventional cardiologist Stephen Mattichak, MD, to its vascular team.

  3. Auburn (N.Y.) Community Hospital appointed Ronald Kirshner, MD, as chair and medical director of the new Auburn Heart Institute.

  4. Sanjay Lall, MD, a noninvasive cardiologist, joined the Gainesville-based Georgia Heart Institute team.

  5. Wolfson Children's Hospital and the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry Heart Institute, both based in Jacksonville, Fla., welcomed two pediatric cardiologists, Prerna Bansal, MD, and Khushboo Parikh, MD.

  6. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Children's Health welcomed Joseph Kuruvilla, MD, as its new pediatric cardiologist.

  7. Englewood (N.J.) Health appointed Aron Schwarcz, MD, to section chief of invasive cardiology.

  8. Patrick Delaney, MD, a noninvasive cardiologist, joined Ochsner Heart and Vascular Health Center in Tangipahoa Parish, La.

  9. West Virginia University Heart and Vascular Institute welcomed five cardiologists:

  12. Portland-based Maine Medical Partners welcomed Christopher Tuohy, MD, as an interventional cardiologist and peripheral vascular interventionalist.

  13. Khalid Al-Khafaji, MD, joined Northwest Medical Group in LaPorte, Ind.

  14. New York City-based Mount Sinai Morningside named Sean Pinney, MD, an expert in advanced heart failure and transplantation, chief of cardiology.

  15. Greenville, Ohio-based Wayne HealthCare welcomed Brian Dulin, MD, to its upcoming cardiology service line.

  16. Linda Gillam, MD, was named chair of cardiovascular medicine, medical director of the cardiovascular service line for Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System and professor of medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

  17. Mercy Health-Springfield (Ohio) welcomed two cardiothoracic surgeons, Jose Rodriguez, MD, and Michael Siegenthaler, MD.

  18. Young-Jae Nam, MD, PhD, joined Monroe, Ga.-based Piedmont Heart Institute.

  19. Cardiac interventionist Muhammad Raza, MD, was appointed to director of the structural heart program at Browns Mills, N.J.-based Deborah Heart and Lung Center.

  20. Alexander Iribarne, MD, was appointed chair of cardiothoracic surgery and co-director of the New York City-based Heart Institute at Staten Island University Hospital.

  21. Eben Eno, MD, a board-certified cardiologist, joined the Liberty (Mo.) Hospital Heart Center.

  22. Charles Geller, MD, joined the Browns Mill, N.J.-based Deborah Heart and Lung Center as chair of cardiothoracic surgery.

  23. Paul Burns, MD, was appointed director of heart failure surgery at Ridgewood, N.J.-based The Valley Hospital.

  24. Cardiovascular surgeon Jay Bhama, MD, joined the heart and vascular team at Jonesboro, Ark.-based St. Bernards Medical Center.
