Ten heart centers have been recognized for exceptional patent experience by Press Ganey as part of the organization’s 2024 Human Experience Awards.
Eligible hospitals can win both a Pinnacle of Excellence award or Guardian of Excellence award, based on patient survey results.
The Pinnacle of Excellence award recognizes the top-performing hospitals over a three-year period while the Guardian of Excellence award recognizes hospitals in the 95th percentile or higher over a one-year period, according to the Press Ganey website.

Here are the 10 heart centers included in Press Ganey’s 2024 Human Experience Awards:
1. Baylor Scott & White Health—The Heart Hospital Baylor Denton (Texas):
- Pinnacle of Excellence and Guardian of Excellence for emergency department survey results.
2. Baylor Scott & White Health—The Heart Hospital Baylor Plano (Texas):
- Guardian of Excellence for emergency department survey results.
- Pinnacle of Excellence and Guardian of Excellence awards for HCAHPS survey results.
3. Chapel Hill-based UNC Health Care System’s North Carolina Heart and Vascular:
- Guardian of Excellence award for HCAHPS survey results.
4. Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health’s Heart and Vascular Center Fontaine:
- Pinnacle of Excellence for medical practice survey results
5. Columbus-based OhioHealth’s McConnell Heart Health Center:
- Guardian of Excellence for medical practice survey results
6. HCA—Heart Hospital of Austin (Texas):
- Guardian of Excellence for emergency department survey results.
- Guardian of Excellence for HCAHPS and inpatient survey results.
7. Lafayette, La.-based Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System’s Our Lady Lourdes Heart Hospital:
- Guardian of Excellence for HCAHPS and inpatient survey results.
8. New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System’s Cardiovascular Institute:
- Pinnacle of Excellence for medical practice survey results
9. Oklahoma City-based Oklahoma Heart Hospital:
- Pinnacle of Excellence and Guardian of Excellence awards for emergency department Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey results.
- Pinnacle of Excellence award for Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey results.
- Guardian of Excellence for HCAHPS and inpatient survey results.
- Pinnacle of Excellence for inpatient survey results.
- Oklahoma Heart Hospital’s South Cam facility also won a Guardian of Excellence award for emergency department CAHPS survey results.
10. Wichita-based Kansas Heart Hospital:
