University Hospitals plans $200M expansion for Ahuja Medical Center

 

Beechwood, Ohio-based University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center announced plans for a $200 million expansion that will include a patient tower and a sports medicine complex, according to Cleveland.com.

The five-story patient tower and the 64,000-square-foot, two-story sports medicine complex will be on the southwest side of existing hospital buildings. The project is the second part of a multiphase expansion.

The tower will feature a level 2 neonatal intensive care unit, an improved emergency room, a comprehensive women's health department, an ambulatory surgical center, labor and delivery  services and a new short-stay unit.

"As a result of significant increased patient demand for our services and our plan for the future healthcare needs of the community, we are extremely pleased to announce this further development of UH Ahuja Medical Center," University Hospitals CEO Tom Zenty said in a news release, according to Cleveland.com.
