Unity Health opens first phase of $36M new hospital

Unity Health-Jacksonville (Ark.) opened the first emergency room floor of its $36 million hospital project, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported March 17.

The 150,000-square-foot hospital was built out of an existing facility in Jacksonville.

The second floor, projected to open by the end of the year, will be the surgical floor.

As of now, the emergency department will focus on stabilizing patients before transferring them.

The newly opened floor has 13 emergency department beds and five inpatient medical observation beds. Additionally, the floor is licensed for 24 inpatient behavioral health beds, six of which are currently open.
