Sparks-based Northern Nevada Health System broke ground last week on its new hospital in Reno, Nev., which is the first full-service hospital to be built in the region in a century.

The hospital will feature nearly 200 private patient rooms and 350,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space.

The hospital, expected to open in 2022, will create about 1,000 new healthcare jobs.

Northern Nevada Health System is a subsidiary of King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services.
