Media, Pa.-based Riddle Hospital's $327 million upgrade and expansion project received the green light from the Middle Township board and its parent organization Main Line Health, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The project includes a five-story, 230,000-square-foot patient pavilion that will house 76 private patient rooms, 10 operating rooms, a radiology suite and a maternity care unit.

Existing care units and support areas also will be renovated.

Construction on the pavilion is expected to begin this summer.
